As far as historic rock clubs are concerned, the 23 East in Ardmore, PA stands as one of the Philadelphia area's most storied.

Located in the heart of suburban Philly, 23 East stood for over 25 years, as the premier starting place for a wide range of up-and-coming musicians ranging from John Hiatt to Phish. Whether it was the original 23 East Cabaret, or Brownies 23East (which it was renamed by new owners after a major renovation), The 23 East provided an intimate space for music fans to discover new talent as well as rockin' out to their favorites. The club was home base to local regulars like: The Hooters, Robert Hazard, Tommy Conwell & The Young Rumblers, Café Ole, Billy Price & The Keystone Rhythm Band and Beru Revue. While the "laundry list" of up and coming acts to play the room includes: Red Hot Chili Peppers, Green Day, Hootie & The Blowfish, Joan Osborne, Devo, The Tubes, Blind Melon, The Roots, Fuel, Live, The Cranberries, Jeffrey Gaines and G-Love. And there was no shortage of established national acts to play the room either, including: Cheap Trick, Los Lobos, Merle Saunders, NRBQ, Alex Chilton, and The Band, just to name a few.

Currently under new ownership, "The 23" looks to continue this tradition with 23 East Friday Night Concerts. An ongoing series that looks to celebrate this historic venue's roots, while continuing the legacy of introducing new and upcoming acts to both the new and older generations of music fans.
